Privacy, in plain language

FreshStartr is built on showing receipts, so this page works the same way: exactly where your data goes, and nothing it doesn’t say. Last updated July 19, 2026.

What we collect

Your account details (name, email — via Google sign-in or email sign-up), the résumés and documents you upload or paste (including self-evals and career notes you add to the Evidence locker), the job descriptions you target, and the documents we generate for you. If you send feedback through the feedback button, we keep the message and which page you sent it from. We also keep basic usage records (which features you used, when) to enforce plan limits.

If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We use them solely to create and secure your account, store them with our authentication provider (Clerk) and in our database, and never share, sell, or use Google user data for any other purpose, consistent with the Google API Services User Data Policy.

Your documents may contain information you consider sensitive — health, disability, citizenship, or demographic details, for example. By uploading or pasting a document you consent to us processing everything in it for the sole purpose of generating your output.

Where it goes — the complete list

  • Our database and file storage (Neon Postgres and Cloudflare, US-hosted) — your documents, versions, and reports live here.
  • Clerk — handles sign-in; they hold your email and login credentials, we never see your password.
  • AI providers via OpenRouter — the text of your résumé and the job description is sent to large-language-model providers to produce your rewrites, tailored variants, cover letters, and reviews. That is the service. It’s used to generate your output, not sold.
  • Stripe — all payments. Your card number never touches our servers.
  • Notion — feedback messages you choose to send land in our feedback tracker.

That’s the complete list of services that ever hold your data. We don’t sell your data, we don’t run ads, and we don’t share your documents with employers or anyone else. (When you target a job by URL, we fetch that public job posting — none of your data is sent to the job board.)

Reviewing, correcting, and deleting your data

You can review and edit your documents at any time inside the app, and you can ask us at hello@stratfordmeridianlabs.com to access, correct, or download your account information.

Delete any résumé (and its versions) yourself from My résumés, and any evidence document from the Evidence tab — deletion is immediate in the product and permanent in our live systems; residual copies in our database provider’s encrypted backups expire automatically within 30 days, and the AI providers we use may retain inputs briefly (typically up to 30 days) for abuse monitoring before deleting them. To delete your entire account and everything in it, email hello@stratfordmeridianlabs.com from your account email and we’ll complete it within 30 days, confirmed in writing. If we ever decline a request about your data, you can appeal by replying to our response and we’ll take a second look.

Cookies

Only the ones sign-in requires (Clerk’s session cookies). No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics cookies.

We do not track you across other websites, and because we do no such tracking we do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Our sign-in provider (Clerk) and payment processor (Stripe) set cookies to run their services, including Stripe’s fraud prevention; none are used for advertising, and no third party collects information about your activity across other websites through FreshStartr for advertising purposes.
